If your Directory Server 5.2 based LDAP application uses an administrative account other than Directory Manager to change a password on behalf of a user (that is, the change should be a self-change), when the application is used with Directory Server 7.0, the change will be considered as an administrative reset. PasswordLastSet indicates the last date the password was changed, its a read-only property, it does not mean the date you want it to expire. You can change the account Expiration Date and choose any you like but as explained in my last reply, you will not be able to manipulate the date at which the password will be changed, other than the domain GPO and the fine Grained password options, that is a whole topic in the AD Certification material.

This command is used to add, remove, or modify the details of a user account, and is typically used in the command prompt. Today, I had a user txt me because he was out in the field and his password had expired on his Active Directory user account. We do not have a method for them to reset it from off-site (yet). So I needed to extend the expiration date on his password so he could use it until he can get in to update his password.
